We had quite the discussion tonight during Bible study.  We got to talking about who will and who will not be in heaven and how that we might be surprised who is there and who is not there because you just never know how people are really living.

The past couple of nights there have been some gun fire at the palace in the middle of the night.  No one was hurt or even threatened.  No one is sure exactly what is going on but Nazo, the day man, goes to the palace every afternoon to sit with the regent and the elders so he knows more about what is going on in Yendi than most people know.  He said that someone has hired men to intimidate the regent and try to get him to go ahead and perform the final funeral for his father so a new king can be put into place.  The military have been called but we are not sure if they are going to send more men to Yendi.  There is already a strong military presents in Yendi especially around the palace.  No one seems overly concerned about it.

The carpenters/ roofers started putting the ceiling on the veranda today.  We are about to run out of ceiling tiles so we went to Yendi this afternoon to try and find some more. There are none of the solid white ones in Yendi so we ordered some from Tamale.  They are supposed to be here by noon tomorrow.  If they are not here the men will just have to start putting the plywood up in the vaulted ceilings in the living/dining rooms.  They have put these rooms off until last because the ceilings are so high.

We got the leak stopped in the toilet in the master bathroom but we had to hire a plumber to come and help us.  The pipe leading into the toilet from the tank had been put in with cement and we were afraid that we would break the toilet bowl trying to chisel out the cement.  I guess they did not have any silicone or plumber’s putty in Yendi 20 years ago when my dad had the toilet installed.  It took Steve and the plumber several hours to get the toilet dismantled and put back together.  The bolts that were anchoring the toilet bowl to the wall rusted out so they had to re-drill and plug the holes.  We thought we might have to condemn the toilet and buy a new one but after several attempts the guy got the leaks stopped.

Late this afternoon they got the ceiling finished in the kitchen.  We still have not gotten the kitchen cleaned and the stove put back in but maybe by tomorrow…

Hope you had a great day!  Please keep us in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
