We got a little shower this evening.  There were so many leaks that we did not know what to cover first.  We had already moved all the Bibles and tracts out to the store room.  We wanted to make sure that they did not get wet if it rained.  We had also cleaned out the bookcases and covered anything that was too valuable to get wet.  I had Steve turn off the electricity at the main breaker because I was afraid that we would be electrocuted!  The rain only lasted a little while but it cooled things off considerable.  After the rain stopped Steve started mopping up the floors because he wanted to get the electricity turned back on.  Before it started raining the wind blew for about an hour.  We were in town when the storm blew up.  There was so much dust in the air that we had to drive with our head lights on.

The carpenter brought 10 men with him this morning.  There were men crawling all over the roof.  They started building the rafters today.  They build them on the roof piece by piece.  This afternoon they made several trips to town with 2×6 that they needed ripped down to 2×3’s.

We hired Mr. Iddrisu’s nephew and a friend to haul rubble.  They never seemed to figure out how to start the motor king (3 wheel utility vehicle), I lost track of how many times Steve had to start it for them.  They got all the rubble hauled off.

We also hired Amina and Azara, the wife and daughter of Nazo to help roast the corn and soybeans and to wash bottles for the Child Center.  We got the grains roasted, cooled and ground into porridge this morning.  We made a double batch which should last for a couple of months.  Amina and Azara are happy to work for us because they do not have jobs other than hunting for firewood and hauling water.  This will give them a little spending money.

This afternoon I saw mangos falling from the big mango tree in the front yard.  I went out to investigate and saw 4 men crawling around in the top of the tree knocking down the mangos.  It is so dangerous; if they slip and fall we will have to bear the whole burden of their hospital stay or worse funeral!  I shouted at them and made them come down!

Thank you for all you do for us and please pray that everyone stays safe as they are working on the roofing project.

In His Service,

Steve, Kandie and Paul
