I am the “King” of the month because I was the one that turned the calendar to the new month of April!  Steve almost always beats me to it but we got up so early this morning that the calendar did not get changed until we got back from Tamale this afternoon.

We had to get up at 4:30 this morning in order to get the brothers that came to visit from Kumasi to their bus station in time to buy their tickets before all the seats were sold.  They will not sell you a ticket early; we tried to buy the ticket when we picked the brother up from Tamale on Thursday.  When we got there this morning the earliest bus had already left and they would not sell the tickets until the next bus arrived.  We decided that we were hungry and instead of waiting around at the bus stop we went to Relax Lodge, one of the hotels in Tamale, and ordered breakfast.  It made a nice diversion and the guys were not sent home hungry.

After we dropped the men off at their stations we started looking for the water proofing paint but we did not have any luck.  We hunted all over Tamale and followed every lead we were given.  Finally we gave up and went to the Bible house to buy some more Konkomba Bibles.  The Bible house was open but there was no one around that could sell us the Bibles.

We headed back to Yendi around 11:00.  When we stopped to buy gas we bought some “snacky” type things from the gas station store for lunch.  It was another hot day today; the high was once again 120 degrees.  We were proud to be riding in an air conditioned vehicle!

This afternoon Steve and Mr. Iddrisu went to town to the pharmacy to buy vitamin C and multi-vitamins for the Child Center.  While they were gone I started entering receipts and doing the end of the month accounts.

Steve had to work on the pump that pumps the water from the lower poly tank to the overhead tank.  The city turned the water on to our area this afternoon but the pump would not come on.  We only get water 1 time a week and we want to be able to get every drop we can during the couple hours it is running.  It did not take Steve long to find the loose connection and get the pump running.  We have a full tank of water again.

Not much else happening around here so I will close for now.  Have a great day.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
