Steve finished making the copies just before lunch today. Then, we had to organize them and put the receipts with the churches that they belonged to. The problem is that we did not get all the receipts so we made a list of the ones we were missing. Some of the churches had 2 receipts and others had none. We will give Divine the list of missing receipts and see what we can do to get duplicates made. The Ghana government requires all churches to register so we are trying to help the churches that work with us to do the annual renewals. It is a pain to say the least. They do not make it easy for the churches.

Timothy has been busy calling the churches to let them know they need to come in on Monday to sign the paperwork. Last time we talked to him he had been able to contact about ½ the men.

Donkey’s back is no better; this morning I saw him weeding by crawling around on the ground because he could not bend over. I don’t know how long it will take for the steroids to work but I hope it is soon! He really needs to go to Tamale to the hospital but there is nothing that we can do when he refuses to go! I wonder if someone has told him that his back is not a “hospital case” and that he should not go but treat it locally. That is what happened with Mr. Iddrisu’s foot, which by the way is still not healed. The doctor has been treating it since the first week of December 2025. When we saw how much of the skin had to be removed, we knew that it was going to take months and months for it to heal. Mr. Iddrisu does not have the money for the treatment, injections, dressing and ointment to get it dressed 3 times a week so we have to foot the bill for his refusal to go to the hospital in a timely manner! Lesson learned? I doubt it! His foot is getting better but we still have months of treatment ahead of us before it is completely healed.

Please keep us and the work in your prayers.

The Monkeyshines

There has been too much shooting around here! It sounded like we were in the middle of a war. The past couple days have been terrible. Mom asked Zorash what all the noise was about; she said that they were performing the funeral of an important man that was from the house of the Mazeri chief. Mazeri is the next village north of Yendi. She said that the man was from the royal house of chiefs and that if he had continued to live, he might have become a chief in his own right. Well, there was just too much noise and it made me so nervous that all I could do was pace the floor of my jail cell!

I saw a cat; it is a stray cat! I don’t like cats either! This cat slinks under my jail cell and eats the food that I discard! This cat will eat anything! It eats bits of dried out fruit, cookies, crackers and dates! What a peculiar animal! We will never be friends! I can’t like him! The creepiest thing about the cat is that his eyes shine at night! Those shining eyes scare me more than anything!

It is Halloween every day!
