We did not do much today but funeral stuff.  We got to the funeral ground this morning shortly before 8:00.  We told Red that he did not have to go with us if he did not want to.  He opted to stay at the hotel which was just as well since he feels like a fish out of water and would not attend the funeral with us anyway.  Yesterday after he greeted Sister Comfort he sat in the truck until we finished.  We left the funeral ground at 1:00pm.  We went to the grocery store and bought some cheese, crackers and snacks for lunch.  We rested for a couple hours and headed back to the funeral ground at 3:30pm.  We stayed until 6:00.  We were tired from doing nothing but sitting, listening to preachers and friends give their sympathies to the family,  greeting people, and listening to music.  This afternoon they had traditional drummer and singers to entertain us.  The clouds rolled in and it was not as hot as it was yesterday; mind you it was still hot but not as hot.

One of the speakers said a couple things that were very interesting.  He said that we are just traveling through life and we cannot be here on the earth without a “Visa”.  God is in charge of the visas; some get a visa for a short stay and some for a longer stay.  A small baby that dies at 1 year only received a 1 year visa.  Bro. Samuel on the other hand received a 82 year visa.  No one knows which visa we have been issued, only God knows so we must always be prepared in case our visa expires!

The other thing he said was that we should not worry about Christians because they never really die, they fall asleep.  He referenced the passage of scripture that speaks of those that die in the Lord.

We decided to eat in tonight and order room service.  This hotel only offers fried chicken and fried rice and a couple Ghanaian dishes but we are not hard to please.  Red always eats fried chicken and fried rice.

Take care.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
