This morning we drove to Timothy’s house to pick him up so we could drive on to Jegrido for worship. We used the same road we used last week to visit Nalongni. We didn’t have to turn off the road like last week when I got the pickup stuck in the mire.

Jack decided he would make a cup of coffee to take with him using his Yeti stainless steel cup. The cap on this cup does not have a sliding cover over the opening. After getting on the bush road I started smelling the coffee aroma in the pickup. In my head I said to myself the coffee is sloshing out of the cup and onto Jack. When I asked him about it he confirmed my suspicions. Jack is learning the hard way these roads are not conducive to drink coffee unless you want to wear most of it.

As we walked from the roadside to the church building at Jegrido we notice a goat that had just given birth to twins kids under a tree. She was busy doing her motherly duties on one of the twins. The second twin was looking weak but after services he was still around.

We were warmly welcomed at the congregation. Timothy’s older brother Daniel is one of the church leaders. Daniel had a good bible lesson teaching us to follow the New Testament scriptures and not following after men’s ideas. Timothy interpreted for me as I taught about what can spoil the Church. I was pleased to see the congregation is having a children’s class which is not the norm here. We try to encourage congregations to have kids class if possible.

With the service closed we had the question and answer period. We were excited to know there were six people that wished to be baptized! Great news! On the way to baptize the people we stopped and greeted the chief and drove on just outside the village where there is abundant water. Daniel did the baptizing with another brother observing at the riverside. I remembered to give the brothers some baptismal certificates for them to fill out and give to each new Christian. We drove on to Yendi as the others walked back to the village.

Later this afternoon our friend Red came by to talk with us. All the Muslims around town are preparing for their big holiday tomorrow. We also took the pickup and motor king up town to pick up some of the pulpits that were finished but we looked at the paint quality and we decided they needed to “lick that calf over again” (meaning redo the paint job).

That is about it for today so I will close. Hope you have a good Lord’s Day and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie, Jack
