I have developed a cold. I probably got on that crowded airplane. Or it could have been that taxi driver we rode with that could barely breathe from coughing. The only saving grace was it’s hot here and all the windows were down, well most of the windows were down. The window by my door was broken and so I was only getting a crack of air through it.
We found out that our grandson Logan, has the flu and is home from school. Poor guy, they say that the flu is everywhere so I guess it’s not really a surprise that he is sick.
One of the reasons we stayed an extra day in Accra was so that we could go and look at new vehicles. The newest van that we drive was purchased in 2007. We have tried to take very good care of vehicle and it’s still is pretty good shape but it has taken a beating from these roads.
We got some good news and some bad when we went out to look for new 15 passenger van. The bad news is 2026 models are not available in Ghana yet but the good news is that the dealership’s owner told us that there were still some 2025 models in the system. She is going check with her suppliers and see if she can find a new 2025 model for us. We really would like to a Nissan because they are easy to get worked on in Tamale because there is a dealership there.
Our other option is to get a Toyota 15 passenger van but when we went to the dealership today, we found out that the dealership was closed because the owner/ manager had given everybody the day off so that they could go to the stadium and watch a football game. By football I really mean soccer. These people are crazy about soccer. But really, you would let everybody have a day off just so they could go watch football. We wonder if the dealership is one of the sponsors of the soccer games. There are several dealerships in Accra and we were informed that all of the dealerships had taken the day off. It does not appear like they’re going to be in tomorrow either because they told us that we could come back on Monday and talk to somebody. Lord willing, we will be back Yendi tomorrow evening.
Another good thing that came out of our meeting with the Nissan dealership is that the owners are Lebanese and the lady that helped us gave us a lead on a couple of Lebanese restaurants; She was even kind enough to send us the directions of how to get to the restaurants. You can imagine the rest of the story; We had our taxi driver take us the new restaurant for lupper. It is definitely a place we will go and visit again.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.

Steve and Kandie Taylor
