As soon as the workers got here this morning Steve had a short meeting with them. Steve buys malaria medicine for the workers so they can take it each week as a prophylaxis against malaria. Since he has been doing this the days they have had to take off for malaria has drastically reduced. We noticed that they were consuming a large quantity of medicine so we asked Mr. Iddrisu how many tablets he was taking at a time. He said he was taking 3 which are 2 more pills than he is supposed to be taking. Language Barrier! Steve explained the dosage very carefully to them; he wanted them to know exactly how to take the medicine and when.

A couple days ago Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo divided the fire wood we have been cutting into piles for each of the workers. This morning Jack and I made multiple trips to the workers homes delivering the firewood. We would deliver a load and then come back for another load. The workers were very happy with the firewood; especially the women. After all fetching firewood is “women’s work”!

I noticed that there were some plants and grass growing under the upper water tank. I asked Jack if he was afraid of heights. He said no and started climbing. I tried to get him to at least change his shoes but he said his boots were good for climbing. The water tower is about 40 feet up in the air. There is a ladder on the side of the tower. I was holding my breath; I’m not much for heights! Jack was up and down in no time. Isn’t it nice to be young? One more job we can mark off the list.

Timothy Niligrini and Divine made it to Tamale and back safely. They got the necessary forms to start registering the churches. The initial cost has almost doubled since we checked on it last year but it is one of those things that need to be done. At the end of the month when the church leaders come for class Timothy and Divine will tell them what they found out about registering the churches.

Please keep praying for us and for the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
