Nazo finished painting the building at Kulkpeni. He ran out of paint and could not finish all the trim on the building that we put new doors in but that is ok because before the seminar at the end of the year some of the buildings will need some touch up paint and we finish it then. The building looks nice. We bought padlocks for the doors so the sheep, goats and children cannot go inside the rooms.
While we were at Kulkpeni we had a meeting with a couple of the brothers from the church at Sobitido. Sobitido built a new church building last year and they wanted to finish it before the rain starts. It is a mud ball structure with a tin roof. If they don’t get it plastered before the rain comes the mud balls will get soft and the building will fall down. The church members had gathered almost ½ of the money needed to complete the building and thanks to your generous gifts Steve was able to give them the rest of the money they needed. They have enough to also buy doors and windows for the building and put cement over the dirt floor. I wonder how many of us would complain if we were attending church in a building with a dirt floor and no windows or doors.
The water proof paint that was guaranteed to be here this morning was not here this morning! What else is new? The young lady called their supplier and he said that the paint was in Tamale and that they would send it on a market truck and we would have it later today. Guess what? It still had not come by 5:00 this evening. The owner of the store said that he was going to personally pick it up for us because he was in Tamale on business. We are supposed to get it tomorrow. We will see. Nazo, one of the guys that paint for us was going to come to work tomorrow on his day off so he could paint but we don’t know how early the paint will get to Yendi. We will not be around to pick up the paint because we are going to visit John Nchola tomorrow and we have to leave at 7:00 because it takes 2 hours to get to Bungbali. Mr. Iddrisu can carry one container of paint on his motorcycle if the paint comes in early.
Take care and have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
