It’s October 15th, two days until I return to the place where I belong. A place with cool weather and paved roads. When I finally travel down a road that doesn’t have a pothole or speedbump for at least five minutes for the first time, I may shed a tear of happiness.

Today was the beginning of the end for our trip, which is always bittersweet. We left the mission house early this morning with all of our luggage and started the two-hour drive to the Tamale airport. On the way, we stopped to eat and stopped to shop. Goosie (Kandie) bought a billion baskets, of course. Once we made it to the airport, we realized we had left a suitcase at the mission house. Luckily, it wasn’t anything we couldn’t leave without. Our plane took off around 2pm and made it to Accra around 3pm. Once we landed, we dropped our stuff off at the hotel before heading out to go buy some more things.

After our shopping, it felt like we walked a good four miles to a Chinese restaurant, because we could not find a taxi to take us there. That may have ended up being a blessing in disguise, due to the fact that the traffic in the city was horrid. After eating we all headed back to our hotel, which is where I find myself writing this. I know today wasn’t the most exciting of days, but sometimes that’s a good thing.

Tomorrow is going to be filled with more traveling as we are driving a total of eight hours to a slave castle museum and some kind of nature park. They basically have walkways suspended really high up on trees and you get to walk on them. Pretty cool stuff honestly.

As always, we thank each and every one of you for your continued love, support, and prayers. It won’t be too long before we are home, and when we do get back, I’m sure we will have plenty of stories to tell.

Taylor, Parker, Charity, Kandie, and Stephen
