Hey everyone, this is Parker talking to you all again today. Hope y’all are doing good!

Today started off by waking up at 3:30 in the morning because we had about a four-hour trip to the Canopy Walkover at Kakum. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s where there’s a whole bunch of ropes, strung on cables between the trees, and the only thing holding you up is these very long wooden boards sitting on narrow aluminum ladders. If you decide to pick the route that makes you go to the highest point, I think it’s over 4 stories tall, so that was very cool to see.

Then, after that, we got some lunch, headed back to the car, drove about an hour back to Cape Coast, and stopped at a slave castle: they used to keep slaves for the slave trade back in the 1500s, 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s.It was actually super cool to see; the place was huge. Honestly, what I found super interesting was down below—they had a dungeon for all the male slaves, and each little pod that was underneath there was for something different. Like, the very first one we went to see was for the misbehaving slave dungeon, and the last one was for the sick and old. Overall, it was just really cool to see, but it was super-hot today.

We finished looking around there, looked down at the ocean—it was cool—then we headed back in the car and drove back about four hours. We didn’t get to our hotel till about 2:30pm. When we got back to the hotel, we kind of chilled for a little bit, then we walked to a place that had pizza and another place that was selling chicken, but it was in the same store. They weren’t split up, so of course, I got the pizza because I love pizza.

So, we got the pizza and I forgot that over here they don’t have pepperoni. Their substitute for pepperoni is hot dogs that are sliced up; the pizza was sprinkled with canned corn. So that was fun to eat—it was definitely different.

We finished eating, and now we’re just back at the hotel. Tomorrow, we leave to come back to the States, so that should be fun! But anyway, this will probably be my last Yendi Notes that I bring to y’all, but overall, the whole time I was here, I learned a lot of lessons and you realize how good you have it back at home. So, if anyone has the opportunity to go, you should 100% do it.

Anyway, that’s all for me today. Hope you all have a good rest of the week and weekend. Goodbye!

Parker, Taylor, Charity, Kandie, and Stephen
