We just got finished talking with Charity and company by phone. They have arrived back to Alabama safe and sound and were in their vehicle on the way back to Athens, so we thank God for their safe journey home. Their flight left Accra last night at 10pm Ghana time which is 5:00 pm CDT. We are sure they are travel weary.

As for our day, we left the hotel at 5:30 am this morning and were lucky enough to catch a taxi also immediately to take us to the domestic airport terminal. Our flight was delayed about 30 minutes but we still arrived in Tamale around 8:30 am. It is helpful to be able to leave the van parked at the Tamale airport; all we have to do is walk out and get into our own vehicle. Before we left Tamale, we went to the area where they sell fresh fruits and vegetables and purchased what we needed to take back to Yendi. I had to fill the van with diesel. After the calculations and converting the fuel price from Ghana Cedis into US dollars & US gallons, the price is approximately $6.05 USD/gallon. I know you all are feeling the crunch back home as well.

We got back to the compound shortly after 1:30 pm. Skeeter was very happy to see us and he was very hungry. I found the piece of luggage that we forgot to take with us when we left Thursday sitting on the bed, so the mystery of the lost luggage was solved.

This afternoon was spent snapping a half bushel of green beans that we purchased in Tamale. It is difficult to find canned green beans so when we do find nice looking beans we buy them and freeze them for the future. Skeeter was happy gnawing on the beans while we watched a western. We also kept monitoring the flights Charity and the boys were flying via the app “FlightAware” so we would know if any problems arose with their flights.

At Kulkpeni tonight, there were just a few adults attending the bible class but there were 6 kids so I was asked to tell the children a story from the bible. I used the account of Shadrack, Meshack, and Abendego when they were thrown into the fiery furnace in the book of Daniel chapter 3. They loved answering the questions that I asked concerning the story.

We will miss having Charity, Taylor, and Parker around but we have plenty of stuff to keep us busy for the next 6 weeks! We hope you enjoyed hearing about our everyday activities through different eyes!

That rounds out our day. Have a good week and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
