WE HAVE WATER! Can you hear me singing? We finally got the water pump hooked up this afternoon! It is only a temporary solution to our water problem but during the rainy season we will have all the water we want to use. The pump pulls water out of the cistern and pumps it into the lower poly tank which in turn we pump to the upper tank. You cannot imagine the pleasure I felt when I walked into the kitchen, turned on the washing machine and let it do what it is intended to do! NO HAULING WATER FROM THE CISTERN! My mind is whirling; I think that if we could find the money we could buy a couple additional large poly tanks and harvest enough water during the rainy season to get us through the dry season. Hum! Now I don’t want to be greedy but…….
Jack is outside working feverously trying to get the chair he is making for Timothy Niligrini finished before it is time to go to Bible study tonight. He really wants to take it to him tonight. This chair is the most beautiful one that he has made so far. He has worked on it nonstop all day.
Divine and Steven, one of the church leaders from Kpamang stopped by for a visit this afternoon. They are working on the registration for the church at Kpamang and they needed a little more information. They also needed us to make some color copies of their government issue ID. Divine hopes to have it all finished so he can drop it off at the Registrar General’s office when he goes to Tamale this weekend for his college class.
Mr. Oldman also stopped by for a visit this afternoon. He is our neighbor and he is very interested in everything we do with our water problem. He was impressed with the new pump and the way it was laid out. Steve spent a little time during the late afternoon covering the pipe.
A few minutes after the alarm went off this morning Zorash called to tell us she was at the grinding mill and that there were not any women waiting to grind. She said that it would be a good time for us to bring the corn and soybeans to grind into weaning mix. We quickly loaded up the truck and headed to her house. She only lives a mile from the mission house.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work! We really appreciate the help.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie, Jack
