This morning we were up and going before 7am. The electricity was off for 3-4 hours after a rain came through. Don’t really understand why it was off so long but the room was cool enough that I stayed in bed and didn’t wander outside to the generator to turn it on.

When Iddrisu arrived he informed me that Zorash was going to be late arriving to work because she had her malaria paperwork to turn in that she had received this past Monday. This questionnaire is to find out how much knowledge the local people have about malaria. Anyway, she made it to the center around 9:30 which really helped out. Especially since Meri is using a week of her time off to care for her rival (husband’s 1st wife).

We had one little 3-4 year old cross-eyed girl visit the center this morning. At first we thought she was blind but then we noticed she was able to see and grab some things. She may have double vision that would make it difficult for her to see clearly. We will monitor her progress in the future to see if there might be any corrective surgery that might help her.

After Kandie fixed lunch we loaded our luggage into the new pickup for our trip to the Upper Western Region. We planned to leave at 1pm but it was 1:30 before we picked up Red to drive us. Then we were delayed for 30 minutes because Red forgot his driver’s license so we had to go back into Yendi to get it.

We are staying in Tamale tonight. When we arrived this afternoon we went to the market so Jack could look for some stuff to buy. We also drove by the body shop to see how the van is progressing. The paint looks great! I suspect it will take another week before it is ready. Who knows????

Hope you have a good day and I will close for now.

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie, Jack
