Steve’s mouth has been bothering him.   At first he did not know what the problem was but he has about decided that it is a tooth that is hurting.  He started taking penicillin.  If it does not get better we might be going to Accra to find a dentist.  There is a dentist in Tamale but he is working with a minimum amount of tools.  He does a lot of extractions.  The dentist I went to a few years ago in Kumasi does not have an x-ray machine for teeth.  I had to go to the hospital and get an x-ray and bring it back to her.  It was quite an ordeal trying to figure out where to go and worrying about catching something that might kill you.

This morning we entered the receipts and did the book work.  When Steve helps I can get done in half the time.

We went to town this morning to find Mr. Adams, the fix-it man / electrician to see when he could come and wire the new air conditioning unit for us.  He was at his shop.  He was busy sorting through home use (used) trousers.  He told me he was thinking about buying some pants and asked if I would like some.  I jokingly said “yes”.   He asked me which type I preferred.  I pretended I was interested in making my selection when he said, “Oh!  I am so sorry, there are none here in your size!”  Well, it was true but really did he have to point it out to me?

At 1:00 Steve went to town and picked up Mr. Adams.  On their way back to the mission house they stopped and bought the plugs, conduit, and other things they needed to wire the new air conditioning unit.  He was here for about 4 hours but he got it wired and got all the tubes connected.  It is running beautifully and cooling so well.  When he went in the bedroom he said “It is not cool in here it is FREEZING”.  That is the way we like it!

Red came to the mission house this afternoon.  He had rented a motor king (tricycle motor bike thing) with a small truck bed on the back.  He brought the scaffolding that he made for Nazo and Mr. Iddrisu to use when they paint.  The scaffolding looked really good.  Red said that many of the people who saw it thought that it was a very good idea but the cost of the materials made it too expensive.  It is made of angle iron and square pipe.  Steve is very excited because he knows he will not have to re-make one every year.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie

P.S.  Please keep the Leon Peek family in your prayers.  Leon passed away and he will be missed.  Leon’s son Brent, and grandson Billy have been to Ghana to help us with the work.  We know the family covets your prayers.
