We had a few sun glasses that Kandie drug out this morning before the workers arrived. When they got here they were having the biggest time going through the sun glasses and looking at themselves in the mirror to see how they looked. It was something to behold.
There were several mothers with children waiting on us at the Center so we ran them through in good time to be able to make a 10 am appointment with the Town & Country Planning Officers here in Yendi. Kandie and I took Iddrisu along with us so he could interpret if needed. We met the two men at the office. It was determined they needed to come to the house to see what was needed to re-plot out the land. After looking around for a few minutes they told us they would come after 3pm to do the measurements of the property. It was around 3:45 this afternoon when they arrived. After walking around the perimeter of the whole property they sat down on the veranda to map out their numbers. Both men were nice. We were surprised at the cost of doing this but it is needed to protect the property.
There were four sets of new twins that came to the Child Center this morning. We told the workers we might go all year back home before we would see two or three sets of twins. Most of the twins we see are fraternal and not identical. One set of the twins were just little bitsy things; so cute. Kandie went to the house and got preemie clothes, booty socks, and hats that were donated for the small babies. They were the perfect size for the littlest set of twins to wear. One twin was 2.6 kg (5.7lbs) and the other was 2.0 kg (4.4lbs) at one month. It is common for the mothers to hold the babies by holding both arms and picking them straight up. You would think it would pull the little arms right out of the sockets but I have never seen any evidence of that happening. I still cringe when I see them do it.
I spent some of my time this morning tying ties that Kandie had matched with shirts that people had given to us to give away. We like to give the church leaders and evangelists a shirt and tie the month before the seminar so they can wear them if they so choose at the seminar. We appreciate those of you that give us items like this to give away. The guys really like getting the clothes.
That’s it for today. Hope your day goes well and please keep us in your prayers.
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
