We are exhausted!  We had far too many things going on today!  First thing this morning we divided the onions so we could give them to the workers.  Everyone was excited about the gift.  The church leaders from 19 churches descended upon us today.  Either 2 or 3 men from each congregation came to the mission house to sign their paperwork.  Divine and Timothy Niligrini were both here for part of the morning to help.  Not all the churches were able to come today; some will come tomorrow, Divine said that some might have to come on Saturday.  He said the ones that come tomorrow will come early so they will not be late for the monthly class.  We ran out of money today so we had to send Mr. Iddrisu and Zorash to the bank to get more money.  The masons were working on the building at Kulkpeni.  Steve had to make a trip out to Kulkpeni first thing this morning to take the ladies who are helping the masons to Kulkpeni and to take drinking water to the job site.  We sent Mr. Iddrisu  out to Kulkpeni with the motor king several times today carrying supplies.  The church members at Kulkpeni paid in advance for 4 bags of cement but when they went to collect it today they found out that it had been sold out to another customer and that Kulkpeni would have to wait until the next shipment came in to get the cement.  The mason needed the cement today so Mr. Iddrisu had to buy cement in Yendi and haul it out to Kulkpeni.  Dawda the mason ran out of framing boards so Mr. Iddrisu had to make another trip out to take the boards.  We had to make another trip to Kulkpeni late this afternoon to pick up the masons’ lady helpers, pay them and take them home. Today was a normal work day for the Child Center; fortunately no serious cases came through today.  We were being pulled in every direction!

Red came this afternoon; he was grinning from ear to ear!  He said that he had something for us and he pulled out Gomda’s temporary driver’s licenses.  Oh!  Happy Day!  We are very excited that he got the license.  Red knew someone that works in the office or we might have had to wait for several months.  When we dropped the ladies we went into town and stopped to tell Gomda that his license had come in.  He was so pleased and so grateful that we helped him get the license.  While we were in town we stopped to get a hand held tire pump for Nana Bekum, one of the evangelists.  We told him that he could not have 2 gifts; he could not have a tire pump and onions.  He thought hard about the decision and he said that he wanted the tire pump instead of the onions but he does not want his wife to know that he rejected the onions.  Ha!  Life is hard!

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  Please keep us and the work in your prayers.

Skeeter’s Monkey Business

I am exhausted!  I had far too many things going on today!  You have never seen so many people in one place!  They were everywhere!  I had to spend far too much time in my cage but I am not complaining because all those people milling around and talking so loudly were making me nervous!  Personally I am happy that they are gone and I can have my people to myself!

I don’t think that Amama, the lady that helps Mom in the house, likes me very much.  She delights in scaring me and making me holler!  A couple days ago Mom told her that she does not want her to tease me.  Today when Amama thought Mom was not looking she took her broom; came up close to me and used it to sweep a big plastic bag at me just to watch me jump and get scared.  I was so happy that Mom caught her.  Mom told her to stop teasing me because it would make me mean and I would not like her.  She went on to tell her that one day I was going to grow into a big male monkey with big teeth and that If I bit her she would be the one that was crying!  I was so happy that someone else was in trouble besides me!  Amama said that she was sorry.   If I could talk I would report her to Mom every time!

I revisited the bananas today.  I tried them several times but they are just not to my liking.  They are mushy and they sound funny when you are eating them.  Well,  Dad bought some today when he bought the apples and I tried one again.  It was actually edible.  I quite enjoyed it.  I may turn out to be a proper monkey yet!

Time for me to take another nap!
