The Lord has been good to us. I am writing the Notes from the house in Yendi. Our flight to Atlanta started in Huntsville Monday morning at 6:40 am. We met up with Kandie’s brother Paul in New York at JFK airport and from there we flew to Accra arriving at 7:30 am Tuesday (Ghana time) 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Our plan was to get a flight up to Tamale yesterday but all the flights were fully booked so we had to spend the night at the hotel and wait until today around noon to get a flight.
Our friend Red was waiting on us at the Tamale airport. Kandie and I dropped Red and Paul off at Swad’s Fast Food and we went into town to do some banking. Fast food is not fast here in Ghana so we wanted to be sure the bank didn’t close for the day before we accomplished our business. We got back to Swad’s just as they were bring out our food so that planned worked out just fine for us. On our way out of Tamale to go to Yendi we stopped at a fresh vegetable stand, some bread vendors, and a gas station to get some supplies.
As we drove by Timothy Niligrini’s house we stopped to greet him and say hello. Paul bought some bread in Tamale to give to the workers and we left a loaf with Timothy. We arrived at the house around 6pm. I had to climb over the fence to get to the keys to open up the gate because the no one was around. After unloading the van the first order of business was to get the pump wired so we could fill the polytank with water.
Everything went along real good until Paul came in around 8pm saying the new a/c unit in the spare bed room was making a funny noise. When I got in the room and turned off the unit some of the fan blades were flying out of the unit. It’s a split unit that uses a long squirrel cage fan. Don’t know what happened but it’s a job for Mr. Adams to try to tackle. The apartment side had not been cleaned so I hurried up and wiped the furniture in the room down and turned on the window unit. Some areas of the floor needed mopped to get all the dust up so Paul could get to and from the bathroom without tracking dust into his room on his feet.
We received news that our grandson Evan broke his finger after we left home this week. Please keep him in mind.
I’m going to call it a night so thanks for your prayers for a safe trip. God answered them. Have a good day!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
