The high temperature today was 113 degrees with a heat index of 121 degrees.  This morning when we walked down to the Child Center the temperature was already 97 degrees.  This is our hottest, driest time of the year.

A new set of twins came to the Child Center this morning.  Both of the babies were girls, they were 2 months old.  Their mother died yesterday!  So sad, no one is exactly sure what happened but she had high blood pressure.  The little girls’ aunt is going to take care of them.  The little girls have 4 siblings.  The Child Center will provide the formula for the babies so they can stay with their family and not be put in an orphanage.  Thanks to all of you who help with the babies.

Aliu, the young man who we helped get an artificial leg several years ago stopped by for a visit to show us his new handicapped motorcycle that someone had made it for him.  It has 3 wheels and a special handle he uses to change the gears.  He was so proud of the motorcycle and it gives him such a feeling of independence!

This afternoon we went to town and got the air conditioner repair man to come and look at the air conditioner that broke last night.  He was as amazed as we were; he had never seen anything like it.  He dismantled the unit and took it back to his shop.  He is going to look for a new fan, he is hopeful that he will be able to find one.  While they were taking the air conditioner apart the step ladder got caught in the ceiling fan.  The fan blades are metal and Paul was able to get the blade pretty straight.  The ceiling fan wobbles a little bit but it seems to be running fine.  At least it does not have to be replaced at the moment.  Now it might fall down on our next guest but we will deal with that when it comes.  Ha!

This afternoon we went to town and bought bread, vegetables and fruit.  We forgot to get the eggs so we will have to go back to the market tomorrow.  Oh!  You know I will hate having to go to the market!

We are trying to get everything organized for the re-roofing project.  We are going to start hauling cement blocks and lumber on Saturday.  Hopefully the guys will be able to get the motor king up and running tomorrow.  It was running well the last time we were here so maybe it will not be too difficult to start.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve, Kandie and Paul
