We are back in Yendi! The old van was finished at 2:30 so we went to the shop and paid the rest of the money owed to the body man. Red had camped out at the body shop this morning hoping to encourage the guys to hurry up with the finishing touches so we could take the van and go. Red drove the old van back to Yendi. We sent Jack with him and Kandie rode with me. We got back around 5pm.
Starting out this morning we went over to the auditor’s office to get a number off of one of the child center’s certificates to give the SSNIT investor. It took longer than we anticipated so we had to go back to the hotel to turn in our keys before going to the investor’s office. I had success giving the number to the office. After that was finished we went into town to look for canned goods. We have to keep up our supply in anticipation of our Hobbs Street guests coming in 2.5 weeks. Some things we just can’t get in Yendi.
Before going to pick up the old van we went to the AWA (Africa World Airlines) office to purchase some plane tickets to be used when Rusty and Perry come to Ghana 2.5 weeks from now. It is amazing how that 1 hour plane rides beats 15 hours of riding in the van. We noticed as we went to our hotel in Wa this weekend the town is getting a new airport so within a year I suspect there will be flights going from Accra to Wa.
We are happy to tell you Timothy and Rita’s little girl Sarah was discharged from the hospital today. As Kandie and I drove by their house this afternoon I stopped to see Timothy to inquire about Sarah but he wasn’t around. Rita was outside holding Sarah. The baby looked well. Rita told me the hospital treated her for malaria. Thanks so much for your prayers!
That is about it for now. Have a good day!
In His service,
Stephen & Kandie, Jack
