All of us were able to get both sides of the house closed up this morning in time to be on the road for Tamale by 6:15. We picked up Red, our part time driver in Yendi a few minutes later. When we passed through Kulkpeni we stopped at Timothy Niligrini’s house to pick up some communion bread and tell Timothy goodbye. Five miles up the road we passed through the village of Kanimo. Kandie had some touchup paint to fix the Church’s signboard arrow on one side that had been painted in the wrong direction. It wasn’t long before she had a crowd of people around her watching her paint. The people were happy to have it fixed correctly.
We fueled the van in Tamale before going on to the airport north of town. We arrived a little early but it wasn’t long before we checked in. Our flight was delayed 45 minutes. It is a turnaround flight from Accra to Tamale and then back to Accra. Our arrival was only 35 minutes late which wasn’t bad. The four of us checked into the hotel and then we went to a little bakery/restaurant named Chocó Pain and ate a late lunch.
The plan was to worship at a local congregation near the hotel this evening but we found out they don’t have a Sunday evening service so the backup plan went into action at 5pm. Our hotel room doubled as our meeting place for our own worship service.
Around 6pm we walked down to The Palace Chinese Restaurant for supper. Kandie and I wanted the guys to have a chance to eat there. We have our day planned for tomorrow so it is time to get to bed. We hope you all have a great Lord’s Day and may God bless!
In His service,
Stephen & Kandie
