Happy Halloween! No one celebrates Halloween in this area even though most of them believe in witches, spirits, dwarfs (sort of like Leprechauns) and all sorts of magic and mystical stuff. I think I will dress up like a “missionary”!
Today was Yendi’s big market day. We waited until it was a bit cooler to go. The high temperature today was 110 degrees. While we walked around the market we noticed that there were no Falani people in the market neither selling nor buying which proves they are still afraid to come into Yendi. Hopefully in the next few days they will feel better about moving around in Yendi. We had a very slow day at the Center too.
Mr. Iddrisu was back at work today he said that they got all the corn shelled and put out to dry. Meri also came back to work today. She brought a copy of the ultra sound. They pushed her due date back about 3 weeks. She is still feeling good.
Amama and Meri finished cleaning the apartment; we are trying to get ready for our guests. After they finished cleaning the apartment they started cleaning stuff we will use for the seminar. They cleaned the water containers today. There is a well at Kulkpeni but we have to provide something for them to carry the water in.
Timothy Niligrini, the evangelist, stopped by for a visit this afternoon. He said he is really enjoying sewing with the electric sewing machine we loaned him. He is used to using a treadle machine. He said that he is having a little trouble stopping where he wants to stop. He has also been having some trouble with his motorcycle leaking oil. He took it to the mechanic and had a new seal put it but it was still leaking when he came to the mission house. He is going to take it back and see if they can get it to stop leaking.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work. We really appreciate the help.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
