Yesterday evening when we got back from Tamale the electricity was off. Since we have a big generator we were not worried about the lights being off. A couple hours after Steve started the generator Tichak, the watchman, told us that the lights were back on. He went to the Child Center to turn on the security lights. He came rushing back up to the house to tell us that all the light bulbs were dead. Steve switched off the generator and switched the main house back to city electricity. When he did the florescent lights started droning and we could smell them burning. We dashed out and told Steve to turn off the electricity because it was too high! We could hear our neighbor’s light bulbs popping. Steve called Mr. Oldman our neighbor and he said that his lights had blown too. All the lights at the Child Center had blown and some of those at the main house were out. The TV and VCR in Jack’s room were ruined as well as Jack cell phone charger. Luckily he had his cell phone in his pocket. Steve went to town to buy more light bulbs. He had to go to 3 different places before he found enough to replace all those that were blown. The high voltage burned out several of the outlets in the main house. The computers were running through a surge protector so they did were not get damaged. The wires on several of the lights at the main house were fried so we had to have Shiabu the electrician come this afternoon to fix them. When Nazo came to work this morning he said that all the lights at his house were blown and he also lost his cell phone and charger. We took the TV and VCR to the repair shop; maybe they can do something with them but it is doubtful.

Jack spent most of the day working on chairs. Right now he is working on a chair for Tichak, one of the night watchmen. When Papa the other night watchman finds out Tichak is getting a chair he will want one too. They are just like kids; you can’t do for one without doing for the other. The electrician even told him that he needs a chair. Ha! “This is the job that never ends; it goes on and on my friends!” Jack loves it!

The agric man came and sprayed the mango trees again this morning so I stayed in our room and worked on Bible lessons. It is raining right now. September is the month that we normally get the most rain. We got 1 ½ inches of rain yesterday and we have already gotten 7/10 of an inch this evening. The rain has slacked off and it is just drizzling right now. We are supposed to go to Nalongni for worship tomorrow. If we get too much more rain the road will be impassable.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
