We spent the whole day in Tamale. We were successful in getting Jack’s visa renewed. Jack can now stay in Ghana until November 22nd if he wants to but he will be leaving with us the first part of November.

We also picked up the audit from the accountant. The accountant was so nice; he said he would turn the audit to the Registrar of Companies for us so we did not have to go there ourselves. We were pleased because we know this is the quickest and cheapest way to get things done.

One of the strings on Jack’s guitar broke. Nazo, the day man, told Jack he could buy new ones at Melcom’s a store in Tamale that is sort of like a small department store. I am not even sure that Nazo has ever been to Melcom’s but we checked there anyway. No guitar strings but they did have one very cheap guitar that had rusty strings. We checked at the place we bought the PA system but they only had a bass guitar. They said that they had strings for the bass guitar but none for Jack’s guitar.

We stopped by the body mechanic to check on the progress of the old van. He has finished most of the body work and is ready to up on the first coat of paint. He took us to the paint store so we could pick out the color we wanted. We chose an icy blue color. I asked the mechanic if he thought the color would look nice on the van. He said that whatever color we like would be the best color for the van. I should have picked purple!

We also had to buy a plane ticket for Steve to go to Accra and pick up our resident visa renewal papers. The quota committee approved our resident visa for 3 more years. We have to get the paper work turned into the immigration office in Tamale next week. Steve will fly down on Tuesday.

Before we left Tamale we went grocery shopping and bought vegetables. We bought a 50 pound bag of potatoes. The old lady that sells the vegetables made us a good deal on a whole bag; now we have to eat them before they go bad! I don’t really think that will be a problem.

Take care and have a great day! We are pooped!

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
