A new set of twins came to the Center this morning. They were very small when they were born. They are both girls; one’s birth weight was 3lbs and the other one weighed 3.5lbs. The mother and grandmother brought the babies to the Center. They were so happy with the preemie clothes we gave them. The girls came in wearing the smallest clothes that their mother could find and the clothes swallowed them. They were strong and vigorous; we feel sure they will do well. This makes children number 3 and 4 for this family.
Mr. Iddrisu liked his “new and improved” chair. Nazo is trying to get Jack to teach him how to make a chair. Poor Nazo does not even know how to begin to read a tape measure nor does he have the first tool. No hammer, saw or screw driver. I think Jack has his work cut out trying to turn Nazo into a carpenter.
The political party had another rally today! When Steve and I went for our walk this evening we had to walk through the middle of the rally. The noise from the motorcycles that had removed their mufflers was deafening! We will be glad when they move on to the next town!
One of the church members from the Nanumba district called and said that they had a late church service on Sunday because a small boat that carries people and goods across the flooded river capsized. The church members went out to help recover the people and their goods. At the end of the search they found all the people but there were 10 fatalities. The saddest thing was that 5 of those that lost their lives were from the same family.
Timothy Niligrini went to Tamale today. He is on the board of directors for the preacher training school in Tamale. Steve called him about 2:00 this afternoon and he was at the bus station waiting to get a ride back to Yendi. He said he would call Steve when he got back to his house but we have not heard from him yet. The bus drivers don’t like to leave until they have a full load of people which causes the buses to arrive late in the evening. We needed to get his Social Security information and we needed him to help us get the information for Tichak, the night watchman and for Emmanuel.
Take care and have a great day.
In His Service,
Jack, Steve and Kandie
