We found out today that one of the orphan babies we have been feeding died.  It is so sad, we worked so hard with this baby but it seems some babies just can’t stay well enough to survive.  This baby had been in and out of the hospital.  The hospital tried too, the baby had several blood transfusions.  Most of the time we do not know why the mothers die. The lady that was caring for the orphan brought the babies identification card back to us to let us know what happened.

This morning Zorash and I went to the market and left Steve and Mr. Iddrisu to tend to the Child Center.  We wanted to buy some yams to take as a gift to Sister Comfort when we go to Kumasi tomorrow to attend Bro. Samuel’s funeral.  Zorash said that in addition to the yams we should take some dried black-eyed type peas.  We bought 100 tubers of yams and the beans.  While we were in the grain market we bought corn and soybeans for the Child Center’s weaning mix.  It was amazing how hot it was standing in the middle of the market dickering over the price of yams.  I took my umbrella so I did not suffer as much as if my head was uncovered.

We took wire and an outlet to Kulkpeni today so the electrician could wire a plug in the church building for us to use for the speaker system during the seminar.  While we were there we noticed that someone had stolen one of the light sockets on the veranda of the new sleeping quarters.  We were quite put out to say the least.  Steve will have to install a new one before the seminar.

We spent the evening packing our suitcase and truck to get ready to leave bright and early in the morning.  We should be in Kumasi by mid-afternoon if all goes well.

Take care and please pray for a safe journey for us to Kumasi.  Red is going to drive us down.  He has known Bro. Samuel for about 20 years.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
