We arrived safely in Kumasi around 3:00. We left Yendi this morning at 6:00. We had a totally uneventful trip which is always a good thing. Timothy, Steve and Divine talked almost all the way down. Me, on the other hand slept most of the way. I love to have a bench seat all to myself so I can make a nest and sleep. I told Steve that his driving was good today. He only threw me out of my seat twice; the first time he did not see a speed ramp and the second time someone cut him off and he had to stop very quickly.
When I was not napping I was collecting stories from Timothy and Divine. Today we were talking about witch craft and the killing of people for pagan sacrifices.
Last night at Bible Study we were talking about peer pressure, following the crowd and playing with fire and expecting not to get burned. Divine told us a proverb that just cracked us up. He said, “You cannot go to the monkey dance and not expect to be touched by a monkey’s tail. You are just fooling yourself if you think you can go there and not be touched by a monkey tail.” It is so true but so very funny!
I wanted to get to Kumasi in time to go to the cultural center and do some shopping but they were doing road construction on the road we usually take into Kumasi. By the time we detoured around, changed money and made our way to the hotel we did not have time to get to the cultural center before they closed for the day. Poor me! I was seriously disappointed! We will be coming back to Kumasi next month to attend the funeral of our dear friend Samuel Obeng so maybe I can go then. When “Plan A” fails go to “Plan B”.
Keep us and the work in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
