As some of you know I (Steve) had a short block of memory loss last time we were in Yendi. We left Ghana a couple weeks earlier than we had originally planned so I could come back to the states for a thorough check up. My doctor said he couldn’t find anything wrong with me and released me to go back to Ghana. Since our return to the states, we have been able to visit our supporters in Ohio, Texas, and the Athens area.
I have called and talked to Mr. Iddrisu and Timothy Niligrini several times. The rains have come heavily. Mr. Iddrisu said the concrete wall on the back part of the property fell down in two places. We will have to wait until the rain stops before we can repair the wall. Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo have secured the property with pig fencing. Mr. Iddrisu said the big mango tree that everyone sits under at the mission house has a disease again that causes it to lose its leaves. We have begun a spraying schedule to try to keep from losing the tree.
Kandie and I are planning to leave the United States for Ghana on August 8th. We ask that you keep us in your prayers. One of the first items of business when we get back is to get the new poly tank plumbed so we can harvest rain water before the rains stop. We are excited about having an additional supply of rain water to see us through the dry season.
When I talked with Timothy Niligrini he told me to extend his greetings to everyone in the states. He says the evangelistic work and classes have been going on as usual. Timothy reported the class in May had 27 men in attendance.
The evangelists visited sixteen congregations. The evangelist and church leaders reported there were ten baptisms and ten restorations in May and nineteen baptisms and three restorations in June.
Emmanuel, one of the older evangelists, lost the roof of his house in late May due to a strong rain storm with damaging winds. As soon as we heard about the damage I coordinated with Iddrisu and Timothy and provided for emergency funds to be sent out to Emmanuel to pay for the metal roofing sheets and wood to re-roof his house. Thank you to all those that give us money to use for “Whatever comes up!”
We left money in the safe with Mr. Iddrisu for Timothy to distribute to the church at Nakpaache to buy cement to plaster their new church building. Timothy said they collected the money to do the work. We will be sure to travel out to the village to see how the building looks shortly when we get back to Yendi.
Kandie and I would like to thank everyone for the prayers offered up on my behalf. It was great to have everyone’s support. We would also like to thank you for your continued support of the work. We are running into a few obstacles that Satan has erected but with your prayers and God’s help we will overcome them.
Have a good day and may God bless!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
