It rained off and on all morning, and part of the afternoon. Fortunately, all the workers made it to work today! This afternoon the sun poked its head out so I washed another load of clothes. By the time that I finished the clothes the clouds had started forming again so we hung and draped them all over the house and turned on the ceiling fans. All of yesterday’s clothes dried except the blue jeans. In another month we will be wishing for some of this rain so we are not complaining!

Yesterday was Logan’s birthday; Logan is Aaron (our son) and Melissa’s oldest child. He turned 15 and he got his permit! Wasn’t getting your driver’s license / permit one of the greatest days of your life? To make it even better, he did not have to attend school all day because he had important things to do!

We talked to my brother Paul several times today. He said they found a tire that would work but because it did not match the other tires he was going to use it for a spare. It sounds like they spent the whole morning tire shopping. He intended to do some real shopping at the cultural center, so maybe he had enough time to go there this afternoon. He will fly back to the states in the morning; I think his plane leaves at 9:00. After Red leaves him at the airport he will drive back to Yendi. Please pray for safe travels for them.

The sheets that we washed yesterday finally got dry, so we made the beds in the apartment and put towels and washcloths on everyone’s bed. That was not work; that was fun stuff because it means Charity and our grandkids are one step closer to being here!

Amama not only works here but she also has a side business selling black plastic bags in various sizes. I ordered some from her yesterday but when I order there is always a language barrier and I end up with far more than I order. This time I talked to her and used Zorash for my interpreter so she would know how many I wanted. Then I took her in the house and showed her the sizes that I needed. I ordered 5 packages of each size. She brought the bags today and she brought me 10 packages of each size. I did not say anything; I bought them all. Plastic bags don’t eat anything and they don’t go out of date so why not?

Steve has been to the tax office twice today because when he filed the employee taxes and the withholding tax, the GRA (IRS) website was having a glitch and he could not generate the tax bill. The officer was able to help him and he got the taxes for September paid.  Around noon the tax office called and said that we filed the taxes for August but we forgot to pay them. Well, that is not true. Steve pulled the receipts and told them that he had paid them and that he had the bank receipts for the payments. The officer told him that he wanted to see the receipts so he could try and correct the mistake. Steve took the receipts to the office and they made copies. Just before closing time a lady called and said that she was trying to work on the problem and that she needed all sorts of additional information. Steve tried to send her the information but the network was so bad that he could not send it. He called the office and the lady told she would try and work it without the information. Please!

Take care and have a great day!

The Monkeyshines

Mom is working on a couple new outfits for me. She said that company is coming and I must look “sharp”! I love my clothes but putting them on can be a chore, especially when Mom wants to dress me and then undress me, just to dress me again! You know I don’t have unlimited patience! I like it when Dad helps Mom dress me because Dad grooms me while Mom is putting the clothes on and that distracts me from the torture that Mom is inflicting!

Mom about died today when I got a quart Ziploc bag and put my whole head in it! She snatched it off my head and said that was a good way to die! Really? I don’t know how many plastic bags she has put on her head but it would have to be a really tight fit to suffocate someone! And let’s get real; the person would have to have their hands tied too or else they could just yank that bag off their head! Mom was adamant about it! She will probably start splitting the bags open before she puts them in the garbage! Yes, I like to get in the trash; the parents throw away lots of good stuff!

In my next life I want to be a garbage collector!
