My brother Paul is flying the “friendly skies” or maybe the not so friendly skies. He has a straight across flight so he should be sleeping in his own bed tonight. We just talked to Red, after he dropped Paul at the airport this morning, he headed back to Yendi. He has been driving since 7:00 this morning. Red said that he was just entering Yendi and that he would be at the mission house soon! I know he is happy to have that drive behind him!
Red just arrived! He is very tired! He said he was going to unhook the battery so we could put it in the house but it is after dark and we would have had to take flashlights out to the garage to be able to disconnect the battery. We told him we would pull the battery when we got back from picking up Charity and the grandchildren! Have you noticed how I am able to work the grandchildren into every Yendi Notes?
The pharmacist sent Steve a message this morning and told him that he had ordered the medicine that we needed for the Child Center. Steve went to town and paid for the meds. If they come while we are gone Mr. Hayes, the pharmacist, will hire a motor king to bring them to the mission house but since it is the weekend we doubt that they will come very soon. They usually come up from Accra but Mr. Hayes said the warehouse that he usually buys from was one of the buildings that flooded last month during the heavy rains and they had not fully recovered yet. He had to order from another wholesaler. We will see how this works out. Fortunately, we are not running short on anything.
We got all the receipts entered for the day-to-day books; now all that remains is the receipts for the running of the Child Center.
Donkey said that someone in his house had a new baby boy so we sent baby clothes home with him to give to the new mother. She will be happy when she sees him coming. Lots of relatives live in each other’s houses. I know some of his brother’s children live with him. I will have to ask who actually who had the baby. Donkey has a new wife but I think she is too old to have any more children but I could be wrong about that too. These people never want to stop having children.
Steve hired Sayibu , the electrician, to come to the mission house today and rewire the light switch in one of the bedrooms in the apartment. The switch is behind the door. It is very inconvenient and annoying! You have to go into a dark room, close the door and feel around for the switch! This is one of the best ideas Steve has ever come up with.
Take care and please keep us and our family in your prayers as we travel!

Today was an upsetting day for me! First thing this morning Mom went around the house and picked up all my stuffed animals! Horror of Horrors! She put them in the washing machine! She said they were just too nasty! What! When they finally came out of the washing machine, she had them in the laundry basket; she walked right past me while I was playing on the veranda with “MY” toys! I jumped up into the basket to try to reclaim a few but she held her ground! My big Lamb Chops was right on top! I had to watch in silence as she hung each one of my toys on the clothes line! It was torture! I watched them all day; finally, just before supper she took them off the line and put them back in the basket. She has to walk past me on the veranda to get in the house. Lamb Chops was on top again! He was pure white! Before he got a bath, he was clay colored! I rode in the laundry basket all the way to the door wallowing around in the toys! Now that was fun; they did smell nice!
This afternoon I laid down to take a nap with Mom and Dad but I was not very tired! I laid there very quietly most of the time! At one point, I got Dad’s cell phone; I knew I should not have it so I lay there very quietly and looked at my reflection on the screen! I am a handsome feller! The game was over when Mom noticed why I was being so quiet. Then I decided to pull the little hairs out of Mom’s legs! Ouch! She could not sleep through that! She covered up her legs and said that she did not need an “Epilady”! Now why is she complaining? People pay good money to have hair removed and I am willing to do it for free!
