Forty-six children passed through the Child Center this morning.  Most of them were fine.  One of the mothers with a hair lipped baby came back this morning.  We encouraged her once again to get the baby registered for surgery.  We told her that we would help with whatever she needed to get the surgery done.  She seems to be a little slow on getting anything done for the baby.  She may not have the support system at home that she needs.  Presently there are 2 other mothers with hair lipped babies and they are going to go down to Ho near the Volta Lake and have the surgery done this month.  They are supposed to report to Tamale on the 20th.  These mothers are very excited about getting the surgery.  We are having a hard time figuring out exactly what is going on with the mother that came today.

There are only a few mangos left on the trees.  It is getting harder and harder for the workers to get enough mangos to take home to their families.  It is also getting harder and harder for me to get a mango for a snack.  Steve found a nice one for me this afternoon.   It is amazing that the mango trees produce tons of fruit in the middle of the dry season.  The cashews also fruit during the dry season; isn’t God wonderful?

Yesterday we went to the hardware store to see if our water proofing paint had come in.  We were disappointed that it had not come in.  The owner’s daughter said that it was coming from Accra instead of Tamale and that the truck had not left Accra because it was a cargo truck and it did not want to come to Tamale until it had a full load.  Please!  Wonder how long that will take?  She said it might not be here until Friday!  Time is wasting; we cannot use the paint if it is raining or if the cement walls are damp.

Steve spent most the afternoon working on the monthly evangelistic report.  A little while ago he went down to the Child Center and fished a metal bucket out of the cistern.  It has been in there for several years.  We usually forget it is inside the cistern until the cistern is full of water.  Needless to say the bucket was totally rusted and worthless.

We appreciate everything you do for us and for the work.  Hope you have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
