Timothy and Matthew Unidon from Kulkpeni went with us to the village of Bitamando this morning. If you will remember last Yendi Market day we met several brethren from this Church and they asked us to come today. Kandie’s brother Paul went to visit the congregation of Wadiig that is located north of Divine’s village of Kpamang.

We arrived just in time to begin services. For my lesson for this morning I talked on keeping the Church and ourselves pure. The lesson was very well received. Timothy Niligrini was my interpreter. After services we had our usual question and answer period. There were not many questions but the problem of water in the village came up. The women had to walk about 5 mile to fetch water because their borehole (well) was in need of repair. They needed 50 GH Cedis (equals $12) to purchase the parts. They had tried to get each family to contribute to a common fund to repair the hand pump but with no success. There is a man that lives in the village that knows how to repair the water pump. I looked over to Kandie and said we can help with this so we gave them 50 Cedis and 10 Cedis for the repairman.(later we also provided some fuel money to go to Yendi to get the spare parts that was needed) You would have thought we had given these people a million dollars. The women of the Church were so happy we had given them the money one lady came over and squatted down in front of Kandie and told her to tell me “Thank You” for giving them the money. It is hard to believe such a small amount of money that can do so much good. Joshua, one of the Church brothers said the village will know the Church of Christ initially dug the borehole and the Church is also helping when there is a great need when no one else is willing to help.

Some of the brethren lead us over to the old chief’s house so we could greet him. This old chief is very hard of hearing so you have to talk real loud. He was concerned about not having rain so I told him we would pray for rain for his village. This chief in years past have hired Fetish and Juju men to call the rain so I was sure to tell him we would do it for free.

Around 2pm the air-conditioner repairman came to the house. Within an hour’s time he had the new split unit set up and running in the printing room. This is also the room that we use as a dining room when company comes. The new unit is from Kandie’s brother Paul.

Today was Yendi Market Day. I neglected to mention there were three young ladies we brought back from Bitamando to Yendi so they could go to the market. Shortly after 4pm Kandie and I went up to the market to look around. We needed some baby powder to give as gifts and to make Butter for the child center.

That’s just about wraps it up for the day. We hope you’re having a good Lord’s Day and thank you for your support of the work.

In His service,
Stephen & Kandie, Paul
