My brother Paul left this morning headed to Sekondi-Takoradi.   He will not be returning to Yendi.  It always makes me a little jealous when visitors leave and head back to the states.  I always wish it was me that was going home so I could see my grandchildren and kids!

We had a bumper crop of children in the Child Center this morning.  Sixty-six babies and children came to see us.  We still have a few crocheted baby hats left but we will probably run out tomorrow.  If the ladies make hats for us again we are going to have to have more of the larger size because many of the mothers come in with a small baby and an older child.  The older children are envious of their siblings’ hats.

We had a new set of twins that needed formula come today.  Their mother died a few days after they were born.  Their grandmother is going to be taking care of the twins.  There are five other children in the family that are now without a mother.  So sad!

Last night the man that brought the ceiling tiles from Tamale brought the portion we ordered out to the mission house.  They were on the top of a 32 passenger bus.  Steve would not let him pull up under the big mango tree because the bus was too tall and would have ripped some of the branches off the mango tree.  He just pulled up in the yard and they off loaded the material on the cement slab.  We covered it with a tarp even though Abochi said the rain would not hurt it.

This afternoon we went to town and bought the nails and corner pieces for the ceiling.  We also bought a small used freezer.  One of the men that graduated from the preacher training school in Tamale asked us to hire him as an evangelist.  Steve told him that we were not planning on hiring any more men but that we could help him start a small business so he would be self sufficient and be able to preach too.  He said he wanted to start selling frozen fish and all he needed to get started was a small freezer.  It sounded like a good idea to us.  At least he is willing to work.  He is in the process of trying to get married but it is a long drawn out affair.

Thank you for the love, prayers and support.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
