We had about given up hope that the roofers were going to come to work this morning but about 9:30 Abochi showed up. He said that they would come start the work. We thought that meant several men would come but only one lonely man showed up. He removed the ceiling from the veranda. The veranda runs on all four sides of the mission house. Nazo and Mr. Iddrisu wanted the plywood that was removed today. We did not want the wood lying around on the mission property looking ugly so we told them to back the motor king up to the veranda so as the man pulled off the plywood and battens they could load it immediately on the motor king and take it to their houses. The man finished around 1:00. What a mess! It took us a while to get everything cleaned up and the verandas blown off. It will probably take another day to replace the frame work that will hold the ceiling tiles.

Four of the cement blocks shifted while they were putting on the new roof so Dauda, the mason came this afternoon and fixed that problem.

We also had to call Shiabu, the electrician because when they were pulling down the ceiling they had to do something about the main wires that were feeding the house from the street. They somehow disconnected the lights to both bathrooms in the main house and several of the security bulbs. Shiabu is going to come back tomorrow and re-route the electricity and hopefully re-connect everything. He suggested putting an access hole in the new ceiling so it would be easy to get into the attic in the future. We think that is a wonderful idea.

This morning among all the demolition work Steve had to go to the hospital in Yendi for more continuing education. We got a visit from the social welfare officer. He was in good spirits this morning because the funding for our area had finally come through. He was excited about being able to distribute funds to those in need.

The regent sent a couple men to the mission house to tell us thank you for sending a baby gift to his child’s naming ceremony last week. Of course we had to send a gift back to the regent and also give a gift to the men who brought the message.

It is almost time for Bible study so I will close for now. Have a great day!

In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
