Red and I were on our way to Accra shortly after 6am this morning. We took the short cut through Nsawam and into Accra. We arrived sooner than I expected. It was around 10:30.
As soon as we arrived in Accra I had Red take me to the section of town called Nima to do some business. From there we drove to a wholesale drug seller trying to find some cheaper vitamin C tablets for the Child Center but were not successful. On the way over to the airport I had Red stop at a Chinese grocery store so I could buy some sweet hot sauce, light soy sauce, sesame oil, etc to take back to Yendi. We went on to the airport to check at a Forex Bureau (money changer) to see what kind of exchange rates they were giving for dollars. We look for better rates so we can make the money stretch that people give us for the work.
It only took a few minutes to find out the exchange rate so from that point we started driving toward the hotel. There is a grocery store named Koala’s near the hotel. I was able to buy some canned green beans and other canned goods that are difficult to find in Tamale. We had everything done by 1pm and were at the hotel not long after.
I have been in contact with Kandie while in the Atlanta and JFK airports. At 9:35 Ghana time (3:35 CST) Kandie and Paul were on the plane preparing to leave for Accra. The Accra flight is scheduled to take 10 hours to complete. Red and I will be waiting at the airport a little after 8 am to pick them up.
Please keep them in your prayers. We thank all of you for your kind support. Have a good day. I know I am going to have a good morning when I finally get my wife by my side.
In His service,
Stephen Taylor
