Kandie and Paul’s flight landed as scheduled at 8:10 am this morning. It took about an hour for them to collect all their luggage and exit the terminal where Red and I were waiting. Paul has a terrible cough. I got him to start taking some medicine. We will see how he responds to the medicine after several days.
We stopped at the carving village at Aburi so Kandie could look for any wood carvings that strike her fancy. We also stopped at the Koforidua bead market. Yesterday was the regular market day for the bead sellers but there were enough vendors still around today to make her stop worthwhile.
From Koforidua to the main Accra- Kumasi road where we turn right to continue our journey on to Kumasi was in bad shape. They also had a detour into a village that was several miles away which helped to slow us down. By 6pm it is starting to get dark, and I don’t like to drive very far in Ghana at night. For the longest time we were stuck in traffic only to find out a vehicle had broken down at a toll booth ahead and the police had us detour several blocks around in the village. It was nearly 8pm before we arrived at the hotel.
Right now Kandie is enjoying her sleep. I’m sure Paul is too. We will leave the hotel here in Kumasi fairly early in the morning so we will be sure to get across the bridge that is being repaired before 2pm deadline.
Thanks again for your prayers for a safe trip. Have a great day.
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
