Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo moved the rubble for the second time this morning. Mr. Iddrisu was very apologetic for putting it in the wrong place the first time. We told him that it was just a problem with the “Language Barrier”. We went to the back of the property to be sure they knew exactly what we wanted them to do this time.
After all the workers got here this morning we pulled out the rejected clothes, the clothes that were not in good enough shape to distribute to the churches. Some of them were stained or too indecent to be worn out in public. Each of the workers found something that they could use. They thought sorting through the clothes was great fun. Zorash couldn’t help trying on a pair of very tall spiked high heel shoes. She fell off them twice just trying to walk around on the veranda. We will take the rejected rejects to the dump.
Steve has only been back a little while. Today is the first day of the monthly class. Timothy Niligrini taught the first session and Steve spent most of his time working on the program for the seminar next month. Steve wants to involve as many of the men as he can. Of course some people already have their set jobs. The guys that do the registering do it every year. No need to train new people each year; beside the men who do the registering have to be able to read and write. Hopefully they will get it all worked out tomorrow.
We found out this morning that one of the abandoned babies we have been feeding passed away. The caregiver had taken the baby to the hospital twice so it was not from lack of trying. The baby probably had a severe case of malaria, the number one killer in our area.
I spent part of the afternoon working on the books and making copies. Maybe I will get the books done early this month.
Please keep us and the work in your prayers. We appreciate all you do for us.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
