Today was wash day; not a normal wash day but today was the day to wash the sheets on the guest beds.  We also washed the light blankets; yes, we do need a light blanket in the night when the air conditioner is running.  It was past time to wash the curtains so we pulled them down too.  There are no doors on the cabinets in the kitchen.  The openings are covered with curtains.  While we were washing I decided that we needed to do them as well.  We have a small window of time before the water in the reservoir dries up.  We have lots stored in the poly tanks but once there is no water in the reservoir we will have to go on serious water rations which means no more spring cleaning!  The kitchen looks nice and fresh!  I hung the cabinet curtains as soon as I pulled them out of the washing machine.  No need to wad them up in a laundry basket and have to iron them later.

Steve said that they had a good class today.  They got the names of all the men that were willing to participate in the seminar.  The men were very excited this morning with their shirts and ties.  They really appreciate getting something new to wear.  Steve said it took them a while to look through all the shirts and find the one they liked best.  We usually give them tires and tubes for their bicycles twice a year.  Ideally they would have gotten them next month but we thought that it would be too hard to give them out during the seminar and it might cause hard feelings because others that have bicycles would expect to get tires and tubes also.  So today they got 2 gifts.  They were flying high when they left today.  Five  congregations that were not able to attend last month’s class also got a bag of used clothing.  Seems like Christmas!

Divine was not feeling well today.  He had a big boil under his arm.  It was so painful he could not even put his arm down.  Steve told him which antibiotic to buy and he stopped by the mission house on his way home to get some Ibuprofen.   He will feel better when it opens.  The people are afraid to open the boils.  They do not want to go to the doctor when they have a boil because they think that they will die.  Some of them think that if you open the boil it gives your enemies a chance to kill you.  Naturally your enemy would be a witch and would have such powers.  Please!  If that boil was on me I would have my scalpel out, sterilized and that thing opened before they could finish telling me one of their stories!

Meri still has not had her baby.  Of course the due date is just a guess.  They said she was due on the 21st.  She is supposed to go back to the doctor on Monday.

We appreciate all you do for us and for the work.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
