The electricity was off for a while this afternoon / evening which would be very annoying but we have a generator that makes life much easier!
We were at the bank a few minutes after they opened this morning. We successful made the transfer. Then we took the deposit slip back to the office that is handling part of the Social Security contributions for the workers to pick up the official receipt.
We needed to buy 3 more rolls of razor wire to replace the wire that was ruined when the cement wall fell down but Steve was afraid that the wire would ruin the mat in the good van. We went to “Plan B”. We had to buy a new tire and the old tire was in the back of the van. Steve stopped and bought some rubber ties. When we bought the wire he set the coils of razor wire on top of the old tire and tied them down. It worked like a charm!
I think the air conditioning in the good van is not working as well as it should be working. On the way back to Yendi I drove so Steve could sit in the back of the van and see if he thought the air was working properly. As we drove through the police barrier leaving Tamale one of the policemen flagged us down. He wanted us to give one of the prison officers a ride back to Yendi. He got in the front seat of the van. As soon as Steve said the air conditioning in the back was working I pulled over and we changed places. I napped the rest of the way back to Yendi.
We got into Yendi shortly after noon. Steve I did not have time to cook lunch so he stopped by the fast food place and bought lunch for us. We spent the afternoon counting money and getting the payroll ready for next month. Maybe we can finish the next two months tomorrow.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work. You may never know how much good you are doing but we want you to know how much you are appreciated.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
