Just a few minutes after 7:00 this morning Zorash called and said that no one was at the grinding mill and that we could come and grind the peanuts for the “PPP”, peanut protein paste for the malnourished children in the Center. It took a few minutes for us to gather up the supplies we needed to make the “PPP” and by the time we got ready to go Divine, the evangelist, had come to the mission house. He needed us to type up a report for his class. He is presently enrolled with the “School for Life” an organization that helps villagers learn to read in their own language. After the report was typed and edited I went to Zorash’s grinding mill and Divine and Steve headed out to Kulkpeni for the monthly class. After we got the peanuts ground I joined Steve at Kulkpeni. I was the secretary, lucky me! There was a big turnout for class this month. Thirty-two men came to class. The ones that did not come last month received a bicycle tire and tube. We distributed shirts and ties to all the men so they would have something new to wear to the seminar next month. They were like children in a candy store. Most of them went ahead and changed into the new shirt; some of them even sported the tie. It made their day.

Divine and Timothy Niligrini explained the church registration. Since Divine has already been through the process he was able to give the other brothers some first-hand information about what had to be done to get the churches registered. The men in turn will go back to their home congregations and see if they want to get registered. The feeling among the men was that they want to register the churches.

Today was Yendi’s big market day so after lunch Jack and I headed to the market. Jack needed some epoxy so he can put a new knife handle in his knife. He plans to make it out of a wart hog tooth. It should look very cool; it will be a one of a kind knife that is for sure! Jack also wanted to take his knife to the man that does leather working and have a leather sheath made for the knife. We could not find the leather worker so Nazo, the day man took the knife to the palace with him this afternoon because there is a leather worker at the palace.

Later this afternoon Timothy and Divine came to the mission house so we could make copies of the paper work for Kulkpeni church’s registrations. Divine spent the afternoon with Timothy at Kulkpeni helping them fill out their forms.

It was so hot today. The high was 102 degrees with 52% humidity which made the heat index 125 degrees. It has started raining so I will close before the electricity goes off.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
