Steve spent the morning working on the monthly report. Hopefully he can finish it tomorrow. I started a new quilt project; this time I am folding ladies’ handkerchiefs into dresses. I figured out how to fold them, I made 2 but really, I do not want them all to look the same so I am experimenting with the folding trying to make different styles. So far, I have not been too successful. I think that I will look on the internet at the origami pages and see if I can find something different. Of course, the dresses will all be embellished with different buttons and trim. When we were in Tamale, we stopped at the big fabric store and I bought several small buttons in various colors. We must plan ahead for these things! Ha!
Red stopped by this morning. A friend of his had a tarpaulin that he wanted to sell. It was a very nice one; probably one of the nicest ones we have seen in a long time; it was canvas with a rubberized backing. His friend wanted too much for the tarp so our first answer was no but his friend really needed to sell it so we dickered on the price until we were both happy; well at least I was happy! Ha! It will work perfectly for covering luggage on the rack of the van.
This afternoon Steve started working on the well pump; he is trying to find the fittings and couplers to connect it to the water tanks. He bought what he thought he needed in Tamale but as is true with most of these repair /remodel projects something always seems to be missing. We spent a lot of time looking through all the plastic fittings we already had here at the mission house. We found what we needed for the outlet of the pump now we will have to find the fitting for the inlet. The pump also has to be wired. We will call Mr. Adams the fix-it /electrician tomorrow and see if he will wire it for us. Mr. Adams does not work on Friday. Red wanted us to call him anyway but we did not want to disturb him on his day off.
Donkey came to work today but we never saw him until about lunch time when it started to rain; he wanted to go home. We figure that he was in the back field working on his farm. When his family is harvesting, he needs to help them.

It was so peaceful in the compound today; I saw no workers and we only had one visitor! I could get use to this peace and quiet!
This afternoon Mom gave me the present that my cousins sent me from the states. Logan and Eliza sent me a life size Lambkins! Lambkins is that lamb puppet that Shirley had on TV. No, his name was not Lambkins, it was Lambchops! Oops! I made a mistake! I have been calling him/her Lampkins all day! How insulting! I hate it when someone calls me by the wrong name. Aunt Charity said that Skeeter is just a nickname and that my real name is Ernest T. Bass! You know that crazy character off of The Andy Griffin Show! I am going to have to check my birth certificate and see if that is my real name!
Mom fixed us a treat today; she roasted some of the Agushie gourd seeds in a little hot pepper oil and seasoned them with chicken bouillon! They were delicious! Dad and I have been munching on them all day; actually, we munched on them until they were gone! Maybe if I talk sweetly to her, she will make us some more tomorrow.
You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar but really who wants to catch flies?
