Jack is not here right now and it is raining heavily. He has gone for a motorcycle ride. He is going to be a drowned rat when he gets back to the mission house! If he wants to experience every aspect of motorcycle ownership getting wet is part of it. He will come back with tales to tell. Hopefully he found somewhere to take cover. Steve went out and opened the main gate so he will not have to get off the motorcycle to open the gate.

This morning we had “cooking class”. Jack wanted to know how to make some authentic Ghanaian food. Zorash accepted the challenge. We did some of the prep work yesterday which included pealing a small dishpan of onions and then grinding the onion, ginger and garlic into a paste. Jack was weeping bitterly by the time that portion of the food prep was done. Zorash taught him how to make her version of Shito and okra slime stew. She taught him how to make 2 types of okra stew; one not so slippery and the other very slippery. I personally like slippery okra stew but even this was a little much for my taste. Since we were in the kitchen this morning Mr. Iddrisu and Steve had to man the Child Center by themselves. Meri was not around today; her son Aliu was back in the hospital with another sickle cell crisis. Poor guy! He is about 12 years old and this is probably going to be his life from now on.

This afternoon Jack fixed Timothy Niligrini’s chair and he also made some adjustments to Mr. Iddrisu’s chair. Mr. Iddrisu’s chair had a faulty leg. I think the bugs had eaten the board while it was at the lumber yard and made it weak.

This morning while we were in town we met the guy that is spray painting the podiums. He told us that some of them would be ready to be picked up this afternoon. We made 2 trips to town but they were not ready either time.

We dropped the motor king off at the electricians shop. When Jack started it this afternoon it had no lights or indicators of any sort. The electrician fixed the problem but we could not pick it up because he was charging the battery. Hopefully the rain will stop and we can pick it up this evening.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work. Keep praying for us.

In His Service,

Jack, Kandie and Steve
