As soon as Jack rolled out of bed this morning we sent him on an errand. Thirteen of the podiums were painted and ready to be picked up. Only 2 or 3 podiums will fit in the motor king at one time so Nazo and Jack had to make multiple trips back and forth to town. We are storing the podiums in one of the round houses behind the Child Center so they will be out of the rain. It took them all morning to get all the podiums to the mission house. It was hot today and Jack got a little sun on his nose and arms. He is not sunburned but he is getting a nice tan. The podiums look good. We hope they will all be finished in time for the seminar.
The lady with the hair lip baby called this morning to let us know that they were at the hospital in Tamale. The baby has not had the surgery yet but she will let us know when the corrective surgery has been done. She wanted to be sure and thank us again for helping her; we pass her thanks on to you.
Today was Yendi’s big market day. Jack and I were looking for snake heads. We found several but not the type we were looking for. We will have to check in the big market in Tamale next time we are there. We were also looking for canes (walking sticks) for the lepers. Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo told us that we would be able to find them in the market but we could not. We might have to give them the money and have them buy them for us.
News flash! Jack has been offered a wife. Nazo, the day man told Jack that he could have his 22 year old daughter for a wife if he wanted her. How sweet! Not really; poor girl! How would you like it if your father could negotiate a husband for you with anyone they wanted to? In case Jack’s parents are reading this email, he very graciously refused the offer.
Thank you for all the love, prayers and support. We appreciate the help.
In His Service,
Jack, Steve and Kandie
