We left the house at 7:30 this morning to go to the village of Kakpan. Kakpan is the village just before Kpamang which is Divine’s village. Several weeks ago as we were passing through the village a man ran out to the truck and asked us to stop. He said that he wanted us to bring the church to his village. We gave him Divine’s name as a contact person. He met several times with Divine and then Divine brought James to the mission house. Steve, Divine and James sat and talked for a long time. Steve loaded him up with tracts about the church, baptism and denominations. Steve told him to go back to the village and talk to the people and see if they were interested in studying more about the Church. A meeting was set up for this morning so we could go to the village and meet the chief and talk to James and any interested parties. Timothy and Divine both went with us to the village. The village does not have a chief but we met with the man that was acting as the chief. We were surprised to find out that he had once been a member of the Church and that he had attended the classes that my dad, Royce, taught. He was very frank and honest for the reason he had left the church. He said the “pull” of the traditional ways were too strong so he went back into the traditional ways. He said that many years ago there was a church in the village but it had collapsed. We had a very good Bible study with 3 men and 2 women. They are very interested in learning more. Steve closed the Bible study with the request that they meet together, study the things they had heard, talk, and decide if they are ready to make the necessary changes. Please keep these men and women in your prayers because they have tough decisions to make.

After we came back to Yendi Timothy and Steve finalized the program for the seminar. While they were working Steve remembered that we had not made any additional bath houses. Please, it seems like every time we mark something off the list we add something to the list.

This afternoon we turned shea butter into diaper rash ointment. We made 342 containers of diaper rash ointment. It did not take us as long as it normally does because Jack was helping. An extra pair of hands makes a big difference.

Later in the afternoon Steve and Jack went to town to see if the painter had any more of the podium finished. We were disappointed that he had not finished them. He had to go to Tamale. Maybe he will finish them tomorrow. We thought Red, the part time driver and guy that is making the podiums, might stop by for a visit today so we could light a fire under him to get the rest of the podiums finished but he did not come to see us. He probably knows what we want. Ha!

It is almost time for Friday evening Bible study so I will close for now.

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
